UAB's Clark donates 100 season tickets to youth program

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - UAB coach Bill Clark is donating 100 season tickets to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Birmingham.

The school announced the donation Thursday, 100 days before the first game since UAB restarted the program after shutting it down for financial reasons.

Clark described it as "a token of our appreciation for what the city has helped build."

UAB opens against Alabama A&M on Sept. 2 at Legion Field.

UAB football players were matched with youth last fall through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

UAB also has home games against Coastal Carolina, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, Rice and UTEP.
