Man charged in robbery on Chicago-area expressway
CHICAGO (AP) - A suburban Chicago man suspected of taking part in the robbery of a man by deliberately crashing into his car and then stealing $120 from him at gunpoint has been arrested.
The Chicago Tribune (http://trib.in/2r6p8Lb ) reports that 55-year-old Peter Ely of Mount Prospect appeared in court on Saturday. A judge ordered him held in lieu of $2 million bail.
The robbery occurred on Jan. 6 of last year. Authorities say a man was driving on Interstate 90 near Bryn Mawr when a van struck his vehicle from behind. They allege that Ely climbed from the van, put a gun to the driver's head and took the money.
Prosecutors say the van's driver has already been arrested and convicted. They say the other person in the van has not been captured.
