Orioles' Chris Davis scratched because of a sore right elbow

NEW YORK (AP) - Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis has been removed from Sunday's starting lineup against the Yankees, two days after he was hit on the right elbow by a pitch from New York's CC Sabathia.

Davis was in the original lineup batting fifth. Trey Mancini took over at first base and was dropped down one slot.

Bothered by elbow soreness, Davis is 0 for 7 since he was hit.

Baltimore also swapped a pair of relievers for the series finale, recalling left-hander Richard Bleier and right-hander Logan Verrett from Norfolk of the International League and optioning lefties Jayson Aquino and Vidal Nuno to their Triple-A farm team.

Nuno threw 41 pitches in Sunday's 12-4 loss and Aquino 44.
