"Paving Season" begins on Chicago roadways

CHICAGO (AP) - It is about to get a bit tougher to drive - and park - around Chicago.
In a news release, Mayor Rahm Emanuel's office is announcing the beginning of what it calls Paving Season.
Like a lot of cities, Chicago is limited by the weather as to when it can repave roads. That means, when the weather warms up, the road crews emerge to repave big and small streets around the city.
Among the roadways to be repaved this year are 1.1 miles of North Broadway between Irving Park road and Belmont Avenue and seven-tenths of a mile of Archer Avenue between 47th Street and Kedzie Avenue.
Motorists should be on the lookout for the "No Parking" signs that will start popping up on the roadways to be repaved.
