Softball: Geneva, Jacobs cruise to victories

Geneva fell behind early 3-0 before scoring 8 unanswered runs to defeat Glenbard South 8-3 on Saturday.

Freshman Emily Viebrock (4-0) earned the win for the Vikings (9-2). Molly Wrenn and Annika Radabaugh homered; Radabaugh also doubled as did Kaitlyn Plocinski and Alyssa Kramer.

Jacobs 9, Burlington Central 4: Savannah Svedman scattered 8 hits and struck out five for Jacobs (6-3-1).

Svedman also had 3 hits with a triple. Hayley Masching went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI, and Hannah Slocum, Gaby Silva and Emily Pena all homered.

For the Rockets, Kristina Ahlers went 3-for-4 and scored 2 runs.

Marist 4, St. Charles North 2: Marist scored 3 times in the top of the 12th inning to hand the North Stars (5-1) their first loss of the season.

Natalie Walters allowed 3 earned runs in 12 innings. She and Grace Quinn drove in St. Charles North's two runs.

The North Stars only had 4 hits, two of them by Eby.

Streamwood splits: The Sabres (4-3) defeated Fenton 6-0 and lost to the Bison 7-0 on Saturday.

Taylyr Crocilla earned the win, allowing just 1 hit with 15 strikeouts. She also scored a pair of runs.

Rebecca Daley went 2-for-3 with 4 RBI. Melissa Hart also had 2 hits.

Aurora Christian splits: The Eagles (3-3) played a couple close games with Alden-Hebron on Saturday, winning 7-6 and losing 9-8.

Noelle Chaney picked up the win, striking out 13 and only allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run. She and Millie Britt both had 2 hits, and Chaney drove in 3 runs.

Tori Henning went 2-for-2, and Chaney scored 3 runs, in the 9-8 loss.
