Wanted felon arrested in Lake County
The Lake County Sheriff's Office Warrants Team and U.S. Marshals Service - Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended Pedro L. Lara, 19, of the 35800 block of North Garrick Avenue, near Waukegan on Thursday, officials said. Lara had an active $75,000 arrest warrant for burglary, theft, and criminal damage to property due to an outstanding Gurnee Police investigation and an active no-bond parole violation warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections, authorities said. The task force determined Lara was at his house in an unincorporated area near Waukegan Thursday, and police found him hiding in the basement under a bed and covered in clothing. Lara is held in the Lake County jail and has a pending court date of April 20.
