Ferrara Candy opens renovated factory store

OAKBROOK TERRACE - Ferrara Candy Co. recently celebrated the grand reopening of its candy store at 7301 Harrison St. in the company's Forest Park facility.

The Ferrara Candy Store takes freshly made and packaged candy from its local factories and sells it to candy lovers throughout the Chicagoland area.

Forest Park commissioners, schoolchildren and Ferrara executives were in attendance to commemorate the reopening and to announce the company's inaugural employee scholarship program, which will provide 10 $5,000 scholarships for children of Ferrara Candy employees.

Known for such iconic brands as Lemonhead, Red Hots, Brach's, Now + Later and Trolli, Ferrera's new store was expanded to make room for more Ferrara fan favorites. However, the original murals on the inside walls, painted 30 years ago, have been preserved.

The Ferrara Candy Company Store is open 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays and 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays.
