Next phase of Longmeadow construction begins next week

Construction on the next phase of Kane County's Longmeadow Parkway project will begin next week.

Pavement removal and widening work is expected to commence on the roadway from Randall Road to east of White Chapel Drive, county officials said. Both Randall Road and Sleepy Hollow Road north and south of the Longmeadow Parkway intersections will be affected.

After initial work is completed over the next two weeks, pavement and storm sewer installation will begin. Though the roads will remain open during construction, officials warn there may be temporary daily lane closures.

The Kane County Board earlier this year awarded a $13.3 million contract to Hoffman Estates-based Plote Construction to widen and reconstruct Longmeadow Parkway from west of Randall Road to Karen Drive. This second phase is expected to be completed by the end of November, weather permitting.
