Boys volleyball: Hawkinson helps Libertyville soar past Waukegan

Colin Hawkinson had 7 kills and 2 blocks to lead Libertyville to a 25-13, 25-11 win over Waukegan in North Suburban Conference boys volleyball action Wednesday.

The Wildcats improved to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.

Setter Carter Schaffnit added 6 assists and 1 ace for the Wildcats.

Stevenson d. Mundelein: Stevenson moved to 10-4 overall and 2-0 in North Suburban Conference action with a 25-22, 16-25, 25-14 win over Mundelein.

Matt Cliffer and Leo Chen led Stevenson with 8 kills each while Sudhish Gogula finished with 7 kills.

Setters Haddon Kay and Will Sorenson had 16 and 15 assists respectively.

For Mundelein, Linden Ewing had 13 kills while Ben Arebalo finished with 10 digs and 4 aces.

Setter Steven Miritello had 18 assists for the Mustangs.

Lake Zurich d. Zion-Benton: Lake Zurich posted a 25-22, 25-22 sweep of Zion-Benton in North Suburban Conference action.

Alex Krasowki rolled up 12 kills for Lake Zurich while Jake Gorey added 9 kills.

Setter Jeff Carmody had 24 assists.

Lake Zurich is now 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the league.

Lakes d. Grant: Lakes improved to 9-7 (3-0 Northern Lake County Conference) by defeating Grant, 25-22, 25-17.

Matthew Haufe had 10 kills and 2 blocks to lead the Eagles.

Setter Jake Keenan rolled up 20 assists.
