More al fresco dining approved in Arlington Heights

There will be more outdoor dining options in downtown Arlington Heights starting this spring.

Armand's, which relocated late last year to a larger space at 101 W. Campbell St., received permission from the village board last week to install 12 tables outside - half along Campbell Street and half along Vail Avenue.

And across the street, patrons of Carlos & Carlos Ristorante, 27 W. Campbell St., will be able to dine al fresco more often after the village board relaxed restrictions on the restaurant's ability to use its outdoor dining area during most Sounds of Summer concerts Thursday and Friday nights. The dining area includes a portion of neighboring Harmony Park, where the concerts are held, but village officials determined the outdoor dining wasn't disruptive.
