No reason to fear transgender people
The arguments over transgender people, restrooms and locker rooms have a certain element of absurdity. People in some other countries are probably laughing at us.
In Greece, there are no gender-specific restrooms. Men, women, boys and girls simply use individual stalls in the same restrooms.
Public nudity on beaches is no big deal. It causes no trauma. Greece has a lot less sex crime. Soviet schools had boys and girls change clothes in the same locker rooms. Russian schools probably still have that policy. Russia has a lot less sex crime.
Europe has a lot less restriction in the areas of nudity and sexuality than the U.S. Again, a lot less sex crime.
It seems that transgender people are not the problem. Maybe the problem is people who are so afraid of the human body and sexuality that they cling to the addiction of gender separation.
There is good evidence that it is an unhealthy addiction which breeds problems.
Maybe people here should take some lessons from the Greeks, Russians and Europeans. If gender-specific restrooms and locker rooms were eliminated, then the arguments over the facilities that transgender people use would be eliminated as well.
It would be a big shock at first, but over time, people would adjust and society just might improve.
People seldom admit to fear. But fear is the most dominant emotion. Everyone is afraid of something. People are afraid of other people, often without justification. There is no reason to fear transgender people.
