Schaumburg H.S. alumni serving on USS Dewey

• Connor McGonagle, a Schaumburg native and 2015 Schaumburg High School graduate, is serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the guided-missile destroyer, USS Dewey. Seaman McGonagle is a sonar technician aboard the Arleigh Burke class guided-missile destroyer operating out of San Diego, California. He is responsible for operating surface sonar and other oceanographic systems, surface ship underwater fire control systems for the solution of anti-submarine warfare problems and performing organizational and intermediate maintenance on surface sonar and allied equipment. "Joining the Navy was the best decision of my life," McGonagle said. "I love being able to serve and give back to the country that gave me a lot. It is an honor."

• Todd Robinson, a Rolling Meadows native, is running this year's Boston Marathon. Robinson is part of Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership's Marathon Team, which will raise money for the Boston-based charity and the families it serves. Robinson has strong ties to the Northwest suburbs as his father was the police chief in Arlington Heights. His parents live in Wonder Lake and his siblings live in Wheaton, McHenry and Barrington. Todd is engaged to fellow runner and marathon team member Steven Farrell. They plan to run the marathon together.

• Park Ridge native and North Barrington resident Paul Wells was recently named Multi-Office Broker/Owner of the Year by RE/MAX Northern Illinois at its 40th annual Awards Celebration at Navy Pier. Wells is the broker/owner of RE/MAX NOW in Lake Barrington, and RE/MAX of Barrington, in Barrington. Wells was saluted for his commitment to helping the brokers in his offices and across the region maximize their effectiveness. He is a member of the board of managers of Midwest Real Estate Data, the regional multiple listing service, and serves as its treasurer. In addition, he holds the same posts with Broker Public Portal, LLC, an organization founded through a joint effort of multiple listing services with the goal of creating a nationwide consumer facing website for residential listings.

• Windsor Park, a faith-based, nonprofit continuing care retirement community in Carol Stream, appointed Lynn Blackburn as health care administrator at Johnson Health Care Center, Windsor Park's skilled nursing facility. Blackburn, a former administrator at Church Creek Senior Living, Arlington Heights, also served as health care administrator at Greenfields of Geneva. She has a bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation/geriatrics from Western Illinois University, Macomb. Additionally, Windsor Park appointed Registered Nurse Mardi Wiedelman as director of assisted and catered living. Wiedelman has worked in the senior living and health care industries for 39 years. She is a former memory care manager and nurse education coordinator at Presbyterian Homes, Evanston, and served as a referral liaison at Covenant Village of Northbrook, in the Brandel Care Center. She has a bachelor's degree in nursing from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana, and a master's degree in gerontological nursing from Loyola University, Chicago.
