Dundee-Crown presents 'Anything Goes' April 20-23

Dundee-Crown High School is proud to present the classic Cole Porter musical "Anything Goes" with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, and book by Guy Bolton, P.G. Wodehouse, Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse.

Performances will be 7 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, April 20-22, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23, in the high school auditorium, 1500 Kings Road, Carpentersville.

Tickets, which are $12 or $10 for students or seniors, are available online at www.greateventseats.com/dc.

In the musical, The S.S. American is sailing between New York and England with a comically colorful assemblage of passengers: Reno Sweeney, a popular nightclub singer and former evangelist; her pal Billy Crocker, a lovelorn Wall Street broker who has come aboard to try to win the favor of his beloved Hope Harcourt (who is engaged to another passenger, Sir Evelyn Oakleigh); and a second-rate con man named Moonface Martin, aka "Public Enemy #13." Song, dance, and farcical antics ensue as Reno and Moonface try to help Billy win the love of his life. It's a wonder that all the romances are sorted out and disaster is averted aboard the magical ship where "Anything Goes!"

Featuring Cole Porter songs such as "Anything Goes," "You're the Top," and "I Get a Kick Out of You," it is a rousing, big dance musical spectacular.

"We are so excited to share the music of the legendary musical giant Cole Porter with everyone," said Lisa Bettcher, choir director. "'Anything Goes' is entertainment at its best. It's a great combination of outstanding music, lyrics and dancing and contains songs that everyone knows."

The Dundee-Crown production team includes: Andrew Bero, Linnea Bettcher, Lisa Bettcher, Mark Bettcher, Will Brocker and Katie Socha.
