Girls soccer: Batavia beats Glenbard E., still perfect

Batavia improved to 7-0 overall with a 2-1 win over Glenbard East on Thursday.

Keegan Maris and Cam Hindle provided goals in a nonconference win against the Rams, who finished third at the Class 3A state finals last year.

West Aurora 3, West Chicago 0: Katharine Stephens provided 2 goals for the Blackhawks, who upped their win streak to 8 in Upstate Eight Valley action. Riley O'Brien also found the net for West Aurora (8-1, 2-0).

Dundee-Crown 5, Hampshire 0: The Chargers (4-3, 2-0) exploded for 4 goals in the first half of a Fox Valley Conference win over the Whip-Purs. Katlin Skibinski and Braylin Mensik totaled 2 goals each while Taylor Coffman added D-C's first tally. Anna Kieltyka dished out 2 assists while Rylee Quillen and Kendall Kieltyka each had 1. Keepers Diana Santillan-Ceja (2 saves) and Taylor Gonio combined in goal for the shutout.

Elgin 2, Grayslake North 0: Guadalupe Sanchez and Nathalia Garfias gave the Maroons (2-2-2) a nonconference win. Emily Graves and Sofia Mari provided assists and goalie Hannah Erickson earned a shutout with 10 saves.

Streamwood 5, Addison Trail 0: Alondra Blanco and Melanie Ramirez were a force in a nonconference win for the Sabres as both collected 2 goals and 1 assist. Kaila Ford also scored while Lesly Barrientos and Michaela Gundersen had assists. Streamwood (1-4) keeper Yasmine Resendiz needed 4 saves to preserve a shutout.

Harvest Christian 1, Christian Liberty 0: The Lions (3-1, 2-0) received the game-winner from Rebecca Gafrick just before the half in a Northeastern Athletic Conference win. Sonja Jenkins had 1 assist and Isa Garcia earned a shutout in goal.

CL South 2, Wauconda 2: The Gators (3-0-1) allowed their 2-goal halftime lead to slip in the late moments of a nonconference tie. Taylor Bittenbender scored twice for CLS while Emily Warren and Jenna Ross provided assists.
