Hotels aren't just for sleeping anymore. The Godfrey Hotel Chicago offers '80s/'90s Tribute Nights Thursdays in the IO Godfrey Lounge during which a DJ at the city's largest indoor/outdoor rooftop bar plays those earworm ballads, hip-hop, pop and rock 'n' roll hits of the '80s and '90s. Each week has a different theme, such as “Madonna vs. Prince,” “Best of British Pop” and “Best Movie Soundtracks.” There's no need to dress for the theme, but come as you are and enjoy executive chef Nate Cayer's re-creation of the discontinued icy beverage Zima. 8 p.m. Thursdays at IO Godfrey Lounge, 127 W. Huron Ave., 4th floor, Chicago. godfreyhotelchicago.com/rooftop-lounge/default-en.html.
