Former St. Charles alderman Jim Martin died Wednesday at age 83. Martin's life revolved around his family and service to St. Charles, said his son, Steve. 'IN2' turns ideas into reality at IMSA

Into, in this case spelled "IN2," is now an innovation hub at the school, and it's the first such facility for entrepreneurship and technological creativity at a secondary school in the state, said Britta McKenna, IMSA's chief innovation officer. Wheeling man charged with sexually assaulting 4-year-old

A Wheeling man charged with sexually assaulting a 4-year-old boy was ordered held on $1.5 million bail yesterday. Adrian Navarro, 30, is charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, which are punishable by up to 120 years in prison. Full story.

Downers Grove family files lawsuit after 4-year-old girl drowns

The family of Anna Trent, a 4-year-old drowning victim from Downers Grove, has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit in DuPage County against the Downers Grove Swim and Racquet Club. The 12-page lawsuit filed Monday states that the private club's negligence in guarding and responding to swimmers in its pool caused Anna's death June 19. Full story.

Ingleside store robbed at gunpoint

The Lake County sheriff's office wants help finding the man who robbed an Ingleside convenience store Wednesday night at gunpoint, deputies said yesterday. About 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, the man entered A&N Convenience/Liquor Store, 34780 Catherine St., and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, deputies said. Full story.
