Krinsky, Roberts for reelection in Dist. 59

I am writing to support Janice Krinsky and Sharon Roberts for re-election to the Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59 board of education.

For the past 15 years I have worked with school boards throughout Illinois. I have learned that the quality of the school district is reflective of the quality of the board members. While Illinois state law defines the board member's foremost responsibility as respecting "taxpayer interests by serving as a faithful protector of the school district's assets," I have learned that such responsibility must be balanced with insuring a quality education to the students of the district.

Many board members act as if only their fiduciary responsibilities are important. My experience has been that such districts fail to provide a quality education, consistently cutting programs to make ends meet.

Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59 has been an exception throughout the years that I have work with and lived in the district. That is because the board has consistently supported effective yet innovative educational experiences while being fiscally responsible.

Janice Krinsky and Sharon Roberts have been leaders in these efforts. Their re-election is essential to insure that the district continues along this path.
