Baseball: Florida success for Grayslake N., Stevenson

Grayslake North goes 2-1: On Tuesday night in Orlando, Fla., Nate Marshall pitched a complete game, allowing 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out three, as the Knights shut out Mayfield of Ohio 10-0 in five innings.

Regen Marsell led Grayslake North's offensive attack, going 3-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and 2 runs scored. Chris Kelly was 2-for-2, scored 3 runs, doubled and knocked in a run. Marshall helped himself at the plate by going 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Charlie Burr (2 RBI) was also 2-for-3.

Grayslake North also defeated St. Charles of Ohio, 9-3 in extra innings.

In that game, the Knights scored 6 runs in the top of the ninth to pull out the win.

Winning pitcher Sebastian Sancen had 2 strikeouts in 3 innings.

Against William Penn Charter of Philadelphia, Grayslake North lost, 11-3.

Jason Donohue had 2 hits to lead the Knights.

Stevenson goes undefeated: In Vero Beach, Fla., Stevenson went a perfect 3-0 on Tuesday.

Stevenson defeated D'Evelyn 7-6.

Henry Marchese had 2 hits while brother Michael Marchese drove in 2 runs.

Ryan McElhinny also had 2 hits.

Winning pitcher Michael D'Angelo had 4 strikeouts in 4⅔ innings.

Against Highland of Illinois, Stevenson got a 12-1 victory.

Charles Ling and Jack Housinger each had 3 hits while Henry Marchese had a home run.

Winning pitcher Michael Thon went four innings.

Up 7-0 after two inning, Stevenson got a 12-2 win over Kings.

Scott Max and Jack Jonata each had 3 hits while Isaac Lucas and Brandon Crawley each had 2 hits.

Winning pitcher Evan Kiah had 3 strikeouts in five innings.

Lakes 8, Buckeye (Ohio) 2: In Chattanooga, Tenn., Lakes pitcher Matt Grubb rolled up 10 strikeouts and went the distance to lead Lakes to a win.

Michael Behrendt and Simon Varitek each had 2 hits for the Eagles and teammate Ryan Selig belted a home run.

Jacobs 9, Grant 1: Grant dropped to 2-5 on the season with the loss.

The Bulldogs were down 4-0 after three innings.
