Fire question focuses on needs, not wants

I ask all who can vote for the Bartlett Fire District referendum to please do so.

I attended the Town Hall meeting and listened to the chief. The facts were presented, numbers and comparisons to other similar areas were shown. This is a need. Not a frivolous want, but a need.

I wanted to be a well-informed, responsible voter that didn't go on idle gossip from the media, people discussing these issues in the salon or even my close neighbors, I wanted to hear it straight from the source. I don't want my taxes to go up, either. However, these are the people that protect me - day and night. I want to know that they will still be there in the capacity that they are now.

They are not asking for anything above what they have, just to maintain the level of service that they provide right now. This is not even a question for me or my family. We back the Fire Protection District referendum just as they back me - 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, no questions asked.
