Danny Defino struck out 14 and walked one in a 2-hitter for the victorious Lancers (1-1).

Willowbrook 8, Batavia 3:

The Warriors (4-0) scored 4 runs in the second inning and 4 runs in the sixth. Jon Kelso went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI. Mike Dembowski also went 3-for-4. Alec Michaelson struck out 10 in 5-plus innings to improve to 2-0.

Metea Valley 1, Romeoville 0:

The Mustangs (2-0) edged out the victory as Mitch Reyes struck out five in 5 innings and Jack Cagigal added 2 scoreless innings of relief for the save.

Wheaton Warrenville South 4, Union, Ky. 2:

Winning pitcher Caleb Larson and Jared Smaga combined on the mound for the Tigers (2-1) while Brad Novak, Griffen Pschigoda and Matt Scherrman each drove in a run.

Lisle 8, Illinois Lutheran 2:

Winning pitcher Zach Heidenry allowed 1 hit over 5 innings and went 2-for-3 with 3 runs scored at the plate for the Lions (2-3). Andrew Waldusky and Aaron Call, who drove in 3 runs, also went 2-for-3.

Timothy Christian 7, Friends' Central, Pa. 3:

The Trojans (2-0) won in South Carolina as Jimmy Allen went 4-for-5 with 2 triples and 3 RBI. Joey Davidson, winning pitcher Nick Huisman and Jonny Strube had 2 hits apiece.

Downers North 3, Benet 2:

Tyler Rosen pitched a complete game with 7 strikeouts for the Trojans (4-1). Nick Bacarella and Robert Southworth drove in runs. C.J. Birck went 2-for-3 with a triple and 2 RBI for Benet (2-1).

Downers South 7, Sunny Hills, Calif. 5:

Brett Riegler and Mikey Palenik had 2 RBI and Riegler, Keegan Garland, Michael Wagner and Anthony Stellato all had 2 hits as the Mustangs (3-2) won in California. Winning pitcher Mike Greco scattered 4 hits in 4 innings.

West Aurora 6, Glenbard North 5:

The Panthers (3-1) suffered their first loss despite a pair of RBI by Dom Rotondo.

Perrysburg, Ohio 9, St. Francis 4:

Jack Sandack went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI and Jake Smith went 2-for-2 in the loss by the Spartans (1-4).
