Lake County State's Attorney hosts victims' rights event

The Lake County State's Attorney's office will host an event April 4 at the College of Lake County in recognition of National Victims' Rights Week.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. in A Wing (A011) lower level on the college's Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St.

Social service agencies will provide information on their offerings, followed at 6 p.m. by keynote speaker Vicki Crompton-Tetter, whose daughter was murdered at the age of 15 by a former boyfriend. She'll provide information on teen dating violence, grief, victimization and forgiveness.

A performance by students from Shine Bright Dance Studio of Antioch also is scheduled.
