Total commitment to library board

Since 1960, Bensenville Community Public Library has served the community as a center for lifelong learning, a beautiful facility filled with information and resources, a place where preschool children and their parents/caregivers are inspired to learn through words and play, and where all people of all ages are welcomed in a warm and friendly atmosphere and encouraged to learn and grow as individuals.

It is the responsibility of the library board of trustees to provide the leadership that fosters that atmosphere and to ensure that the funding and the administration are in place to nurture the continued development of such a rich community center.

Since 2011 Susan Diamond has served on the library board of trustees and held leadership roles of Treasurer, Vice President and is currently the President. Among her accomplishments have been the implementation of a strategic plan, the support of library staff to develop programs and services that meet the needs of all residents of the library district and explore creative ways to promote the library, to advocate for the Library with residents, government officials and through strong intergovernmental relations, and the overseeing of a smooth and effective transition of the Library Director position.

As the Director for 4.5 years of Susan's tenure on the Library Board I can speak for her total commitment to the goals of the library and her advocacy for the residents of the library district. I strongly urge voters to give her an opportunity to continue to lead your library to insure the growth and development of outstanding library services for the future.
