Bridge completes freezer expansion at former Dominick's facility

NORTHLAKE - Bridge Development Partners has completed the first phase of its initial freezer expansion at Bridge Point Northlake, a 55-acre business park on the site of a former distribution facility for the Dominick's grocery chain.

Phase 2 of the freezer expansion is currently under way as a build-to-suit for candy maker Fannie May, according to Brian Niven, cold storage principal with Bridge Development Partners.

Located at 555 Northwest Ave., Phase I is available for lease with immediate occupancy of its 162,000-square-foot cooler facility and 256,752-square-foot freezer facility. Each property features clear ceiling heights of 32 to 40 feet; 4,000-amp power feed; ESFR sprinkler system; 104 dock positions; and 91 trailer stalls.

Bridge Point Northlake is located at the geographic center of the Chicago region, minutes from O'Hare International Airport, with immediate access to Interstates 294 and 290 and proximity to Interstates 90, 88 and 355. The site also features more than 2,500 linear feet of I-294 frontage and is bordered on the east by Union Pacific Railroad's West Coast trunk line.

"Its central location and state-of-the-art features make Bridge Point Northlake unique among cold storage facilities in the Chicago area," Niven said. "The facility is appealing to all cold storage users, whether they need proximity to O'Hare, the ability to distribute to all corners of the Chicago area and the Midwest, or access to skilled distribution labor."

Chicago-based Bridge is currently expanding the cooler building to accommodate a new 61,469-square-foot freezer facility for Fannie May.

Expansion is expected to be complete in June of 2017.

Bridge Development Partners acquired the site in partnership with Hunt Realty Investments and Akard Street Partners. John Suerth and Jason Lev of CBRE, who represented the previous owner in the sale, have been retained for the marketing of all three properties at Bridge Point Northlake.
