Barrington High's Baseball Big League Bash a home run

Barrington High School Baseball Booster Club held its annual fundraiser, "BHS Baseball Big League Bash," March 11 at Pinstripes in South Barrington.

The event, chaired by senior class parent Maria Yorton and freshman class parent Jim Armstrong, raised nearly $27,000 to support all levels of the high school baseball program, providing for field renovations and upgrades, equipment and training needs.

"I continue to be amazed year after year of the outstanding parental volunteer, community, financial, and other support received for our boys and the BHS baseball program," said John Sciaccotta, president of the Barrington High School Baseball Booster Club. "We are most thankful and grateful."

Highlighting the evening was the 2017 Robert Brandt Memorial Spirit of American Legion Award, presented to District 220 Board of Education President Brian Battle, who was honored for his dedicated support to the Barrington area and Barrington High School baseball programs, education excellence and sportsmanship.
