Join VFW breakfast Sunday to raise needed funds

The Watch City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1307 invites the community to an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, April 2, at the post home, 1601 Weld Road in Elgin.

There will be a wide variety of hot entrees along with all the side dishes. Bloody Marys and mimosas will be for sale in the post canteen.

Cost is $8 or $5 for children under 12.

Advance tickets are $1 off at the canteen during business hours.

Post 1307 recently remodeled its banquet hall which holds 200 people. The nonprofit service organization offers its banquet hall for party rental on Friday, Saturday and Sundays (weekdays when available) by calling (847) 888-9809. The post will offer 25 percent off the rental fee with a copy of this article.

The community is invited to join in Lightning, five fast-paced bingo games, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays and the Queen of Hearts drawing at 7 p.m. sharp on Thursdays. Tickets for Queen of Hearts on sale all week at the post canteen. Both are open to the public. Video gaming is also available. Consider helping veterans as a post or auxiliary member, if eligible.
