Baseball: Buffalo Grove rolls to victory in Florida

Senior Tyler Rundquist went 2-for-3 with a a pair of doubles and an RBI as Buffalo Grove's baseball team defeated Rosemount (Minn.) 9-2 in Florida on Monday.
Jack Vaselaney struck out six and gave up 2 hits in the first 5 innings to earn the win while TJ Constertina finished the final 2 innings with 6 strikeouts and 2 hits.
Also getting hits for the Bison were Zach Fricke, Leo Rule (2 runs), John Carpinelli (triple, 2 runs), Riley Rundquist, Chase Marsh and John Lundgren.
Barrington 3, Russel County 0: Nick Gardner pitched 6⅓ innings of 2-hit ball, and Eric Kozlowski got the final two outs for a save as the Broncos won on their Georgia trip.
Kozlowski was also a force at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a triple. Tyler Trojan went 2-for-3 and scored twice, and Sean Davis, Blake Gosswein and Jeff Korus each drove in 1 run for Barrington (3-2).
Barrington 9, Granville 0: The Broncos made the most of 6 hits, scoring all their runs in the sixth inning for their first win of the day in Ohio.
Tyler Acosta doubled, and Jeff Korus went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI for Barrington.
Ryan Loutos was sharp on the mound, allowing 4 hits with 7 strikeouts and no walks through 6 innings in a winning performance.
Providence (Ind.) 2, Wheeling 0 (5 inn.): Andy Shover had the lone hit as Wheeling fell short despite a good outing from Brian Maloney (4 innings, 4 hits).
