Tim Allen, Kansas to play the Genesee

Tickets go on sale this week to see comedian Tim Allen and the band Kansas at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan.

Allen, a star of the 1990s sitcom "Home Improvement" and the "Toy Story" films, performs at 8 p.m. Friday, June 23, and tickets are $48 to $128. He recently stirred controversy with comments that likened being a conservative in Hollywood to living in 1930s Germany.

Kansas, famed for hit songs such as "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Paradox," has a local connection since Ronnie Platt of Lombard is now the band's lead vocalist. Kansas performs at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, and tickets are $55 to $195. Meet-and-greet packages are also available.

Both shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 31. Call (847) 263-6300 or visit geneseetheatre.com for more information.
