Softball: Batavia trips up Glenbard West

Jaelen Lisberg had 4 hits including a double and scored 3 runs Friday as Batavia defeated Glenbard West 7-2 in a nonconference softball game.

Also contributing to the offense for the Bulldogs were Rachael Lovestrand (2 hits, RBI), Kaylan Waldron (2 RBI) and Katy David (2 hits, RBI).

Waldron picked up the win in the circle, going all 7 innings while allowing 3 hits with 9 strikeouts and 1 walk.

South Elgin 2-1: Playing 3 games in Murfreesboro, Tenn., South Elgin lost to Forest of Chapel Hill, Tenn., 10-0 but then came back to beat Central of Florence, Ala., 14-5 and Oakland of Murfreesboro 13-4. In the win over Florence, Alissa Hargett (3B, 2 RBI), Casey Brennan (4 hits, 2 RBI), Mariah Spivey (2 hits, HR, 4 RBI), McKayla Timmons (RBI), Bri Pena (2B, RBI), GraceAnne Aldred (2 hits, RBI), Julianna Battaglia (RBI) and McKenna Eicholz (RBI) led the Storm's offense. Sidney Strama was the winning pitcher, allowing 4 hits with 3 strikeouts and a walk in 5 innings. Alivia Doyle had a home run in the win over Oakland and Paige Salamone was the winning pitcher. Hargett and Pena (2B) had the only hits for South Elgin (2-3) in the loss to Forest.

Oswego 10, Kaneland 0: Ally Jesionowski and Morgan Weber had the only hits for Kaneland (0-3) in this nonconference loss.

Chicago Christian 6, St. Edward 1: Emily Stapay (HR) and Jackie Boyston had 2 hits each for St. Edward (0-4) in its Metro Suburban crossover loss.

ACC 11, Aurora Christian 1: Bridget Butler hit a grand slam home run and had 5 RBI as Aurora Central rolled to this nonconference win. Valerie Litrenta (2 hits, RBI), Danielle Brown (2 RBI), Jessica Kling (2 RBI) and Jessica Eallanardo (2 hits) also contributed for the Chargers (1-2) and Izzy Hernandez was the winning pitcher. Millie Britt had a triple and Grace Folino a double for Aurora Christian (0-2).

Rosary 14, Rockford East 4: Riley McCue had 2 hits including a home run and 2 RBI as Rosary (2-1) nailed down a nonconference win. Adding to the Royals' offense were Xandria Olsen (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Chloe Saltijeral (2 hits, 2B), Mikayla Cassidy (3 hits), Maura VanBogaert (2 hits, RBI) and Kaleigh Lentz (2 hits, 2B, 4 RBI). Sarah Willman was the winning pitcher.
