Streamwood resident admits striking another woman

A Streamwood woman who struck another woman in the face last September in an apparent dispute over a man, pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated battery in a public place, court records show.

In exchange for her guilty plea, Krystal V. Arredondo, 20, was sentenced to one-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay $374 in fines, according to court records.

Prosecutors say Arredondo approached the victim on Sept. 19, 2016, asked her name and questioned the woman about a man she dated more than one year ago.

The next day, the victim responded to an invitation on Facebook to meet Arredondo in Shady Oaks Park in Streamwood, where Arredondo struck her in the face and pulled her hair, prosecutors said.
