Suburban Chicago man charged in 18-year-old's beating death

AURORA, Ill. (AP) - A 39-year-old suburban Chicago man is charged in the beating death of an 18-year-old during what police say was a gang-related dispute.

A Wednesday statement from the Aurora Police Department says Anthony W. Bills of Aurora is charged with first degree murder, kidnapping and mob action in Clarence King's death. King also lived in Aurora.

Charging documents allege that Bills and King were involved in a fight at an area apartment on July 15 last year. Bills and others involved in the initial fight allegedly spotted King later and beat him until he was unconscious. Authorities say they put King in the trunk of Bill's car, drove to Chicago and dumped the body.

Bills is in custody in lieu of $5 million bail. The statement didn't name an attorney for Bills.
