Problem solver we need in Barrington

We've all been there: stuck sitting in traffic thanks to a CN train that seems like it will never end. That's why I'm glad Karen Darch is pushing forward on a plan to build an underpass at Route 14.

Especially since she's doing it in such a way that it will not cost us Barrington taxpayers. She's secured funding from the state and federal governments and is working towards even more funding including from CN to complete this project.

I am appalled at the thought of an emergency response vehicle stuck on one side of the tracks, waiting for the train to pass, while lives literally hang in the balance on the other side of the tracks. Much less importantly, but admittedly a little more personal for me, I am ready for some relief from the traffic congestion.

I am thankful for Karen Darch's leadership in investing in our infrastructure. More work is required to mitigate the problems caused by the CN trains, and we have other areas of need in our infrastructure including solving sewage overflow problems in certain areas and resolving the problems at Hart and Northwest Highway. I recently had the opportunity to hear Darch's plans to resolve these and other infrastructure issues, and I was happy to hear she was on top of it.

In the upcoming village president election, Darch has my vote for having a long-term vision for Barringtonand for being the problem solver we need.
