'Mac Madness' at Elk Grove Township

VP Public Relations

Playing off of basketball's 'March Madness', Elk Grove Township is highlighting its 'Mac Madness' campaign.

The Township Food Pantry normally goes through 300 boxes of macaroni and cheese every month.

The township is continually in need of this inexpensive, and nutritious meal for the hundreds of school-aged children who benefit from food resources through schools they attend and other referral sources.

"We will gladly accept macaroni and cheese, along with any other non-perishable food item, at any time - not just in March," said Lisa Menich, director of general assistance and community outreach. "Please consider donating a few boxes to the Elk Grove Township food pantry, it's a SLAM DUNK!"

In addition to this food item, the Elk Grove Township Food Pantry accepts monetary donations, which allow officials to purchase other items that are running low. The emphasis on 'Mac and Cheese' will continue through the month of March, but donations are always welcome.

Donations can be made Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more information about how you or business community members can help, please contact: Lisa Menich at (224) 222-0944 or email LMenich@elkgrovetownship.com.
