Maine East wins governor's video contest

Students at Maine East High School in Park Ridge won a statewide video contest to show innovative ways they're learning, Gov. Bruce Rauner announced Monday.

The video highlighted a geometry and construction class that made a home for Habitat for Humanity, a teacher who changed the way students do homework, a class for certifications in engineering and a Google technology incubator.

Maine East High School will now be the first stop on Rauner's classroom visit learning tour.

The school was one of more than 100 to submit a video. Watch the video at http://bit.ly/2nLAuj4.
