Advocate Condell Medical Center earns highest honor for nursing

Advocate Condell Medical Center has achieved Magnet recognition as a reflection of its nursing professionalism, teamwork and superiority in patient care. The American Nurses Credentialing Center's Magnet Recognition ProgramĀ® distinguishes organizations that meet rigorous standards for nursing excellence.

This voluntary credential is the highest honor an organization can receive for professional nursing practice. It recognizes the very best in nursing care and professionalism in nursing practices.

"We are incredibly proud to be honored Magnet status for the hard work and dedication of our nurses," says Dominica Tallarico, President, Advocate Condell Medical Center. "Our nurses, in partnership with our physicians and associates, are living an environment of care focused on excellence in patient safety and the best health outcomes delivered through exceptional service, always."

Magnet recognition is the gold standard for nursing excellence. It has even become one of the criteria for ranking hospitals in U.S. News and World Report's annual "America's Best Hospital's" list. An organization seeking Magnet recognition must provide documented evidence of sustained performance and quality outcomes.

"This recognition is a testament to the clinical excellence, compassion and leadership our nurses exhibit every day," says Mary Hillard, CNE, Vice President, Patient Care Services and Clinical Operations. "Achieving Magnet status validates the years of preparation, excellent patient care and a supportive positive work environment we have here at Advocate Condell Medical Center."

Magnet recognition has been shown to provide specific benefits to hospitals and communities by improving patient satisfaction, nursing satisfaction and retention.

In recognition of its performance on patient safety, inpatient and outpatient quality of care, financial stability, operational efficiency and patient experience measures, Advocate Condell Medical Center was also named to the 100 Top Hospitals list by Truven Health Analytics for the third time in March 2017.
