Assisi Animal Foundation to host fashion show lunch

The Assisi Animal Foundation will present its annual fashion show and luncheon Saturday, April 8, at Crystal Lake Country Club.

Television celebrity and Emmy winner Nancy Loo of WGN-Channael 9 will be show hostess and narrate presentation of fashions from Chico's, in Barrington.

Tickets for the day are $40 per person for the luncheon and show whose proceeds help support the Assisi Animal Foundation's animal shelter.

The foundation celebrates a 29th anniversary later this year of no-kill shelter operation in the area, where it introduced animal assisted therapy in 1987, even before the shelter was completed in 1988. This program continues to "Save Animals and Serve People." It also provides humane education programs to area youngsters' classrooms and groups as well as a dog bite prevention. The Assisi Animal Foundation also offers a wildlife safari program, leading members and friends on safari to East Africa and India.
