Endorsements: Girke, Millette, Tyrrell for Campton Hills village board

Six people are running for three open seats on the Campton Hills village board, a board with a contentious, litigious history. Although they sometimes find themselves on opposite sides of issues, incumbents Mike Millette and Michael Tyrrell are clearly knowledgeable about issues facing the village. They are both endorsed. That leaves current village Clerk Nicholas Girke and three newcomers vying for the last open seat: Joe Carpenter, Wendy White Eagle and Robert Santoro. Carpenter, White Eagle and Santoro each have served on local committees or commissions and have valuable professional experience. But as clerk, Girke has direct experience listening to and working with the board. That experience gives Girke a particular advantage in working with this board. He is endorsed.
