Girls soccer: Geneva blanks Rosary

Geneva 8, Rosary 0: The Vikings blitzed the Royals with 8 first half goals as Stephanie Howe's hat trick led the way for Geneva (2-0) in nonconference action. Caitlin Farrell totaled 2 goals and 1 assist while Sydney Gratz added 1 goal and 1 assist. Jenna Dominguez and Alicia White also scored goals while assists came Emily Hauser and Lauren Albrecht.

CL South 3, Schaumburg 0: First half goals by Emily Warren and Courtney Sengstock were more than enough for the Gators (1-0) in nonconference play against the Saxons. Sengstock finished with 2 goals while Cam Sengstock and Brooke Dunteman each had 1 assist. Keeper Annika Sevcik earned a shutout in goal with 4 saves.

West Aurora 2, Plainfield South 1: Katharine Stephens and Gracie Prather scored goals in a nonconference win for the Blackhawks (1-1). Anahi Toscano had 1 assist.

York 4, Dundee-Crown 0: Diana Santillan-Ceja managed 6 saves for the Chargers (0-2), who fell at the Elk Grove Tournament.
