Corron Farm Preservation Society offers the first illustrated history of Campton Township

Author Adam D. Gibbons and Corron Farm Preservation Society announced the completion of "An Illustrated History of Campton Township, Kane County, Illinois."

The book is published by Higginson Book Company, the largest publisher of genealogical materials in the United States.

This book will be the first full history of Campton Township ever published. It is based in part on the works and research of Lucinda Muirhead Corron.

Gibbons also used many of the documents and photographs in the Corron Family collection in his book, plus contributions from dozens of Campton residents, as well as schools and churches.

The book provides a complete illustrated history of original Campton Township residents and their descendants, comprehensive table of contents, and a full surname index.

The online link to purchase this book can be found at www.camptontownshiphistory.com.

Gibbons says, "Over 20 individuals and groups donated thousands of images for inclusion in the book - besides Corron Farm Preservation Society, major contributors were Chris (Johnson) Brauer, Joy (Bowgren) Nelson, the Town & Country Public Library, Filip Johnson, Mary Campbell, the Sharp family, Mike Ormond, and Mary Mather, with contributions from George Bergland, Mary Damisch, Dolly Anderson, Barbara (Norton) Tamms, Sarah (Corron) Toms, Nancy (Mongerson) Warner, Wendell Craft, Jerry Johnson (Garfield Farm), and many more."

The final retail purchase price of the book is $52 per two-part set, plus shipping if purchased online (no charge if buying from the Corron Farm Preservation Society or the author).

The Geneva resident is a former researcher for a publishing company and has written "The Founders and Early History of Geneva, Kane County, Illinois: Volume I - Beginnings to 1837." He also is president of Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley.
