North Aurora McDonald's hosts McTeacher's Night for Jewel Middle School

West Aurora Unit District 129's Jewel Middle School held its second annual McTeacher's Night at the North Aurora McDonald's on Thursday, March 9.

A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales to the school.

On Thursday, the teachers were excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for their school. The students and families were excited to see their teachers and assistant principal behind the counter "working" at the McDonald's on Hansen Boulevard.

Teachers from the school worked McTeacher jobs that included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks and clearing tables. All duties were executed with great enthusiasm and huge smiles on everyone's face.

A special thank you goes to PTO members Jenny Redfern and Julie Lind who organized the event as well as everyone that worked and attended this exciting evening.

The school raised more than $300 and plans to use the money to help pay for student activities.
