Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is it?In the 16 years that my family has been involved with the Rolling Meadows park district programs, I have been very impressed with the upgrades and renovations made to the playgrounds and facilities. I appreciate the additional family/community events created by the park district, that provide an opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy together. I hope to help make improvements to the gymnastics program. Now that there is no competitive gymnastics team, we need to evaluate the expectations of the large community we serve to help us decide what level of gymnastics our park district will commit to providing in the future. Implementing the new goals of the gymnastics program will help to offer appropriate course offerings, and make efficient use of staff and space, as it meets the needs of each participant. How do you assess the state of the district's finances? What, if any, changes do you propose to alter the district's financial picture, whether through cost reduction or revenue increases? Please be as specific as possible on where you would propose cutting or how you would propose increasing revenue.Candidate did not respond. What programs aren't paying for themselves? Would you keep, eliminate or change them? How and why?Our swimming pools are very expensive to run, and we have a decline in our swim team participants, which has led to a decline in revenue. However, it is difficult to make a decision about the pools because of the changes to the school/pool calendar. This has obviously been a transitional season. Are there any unmet recreational needs? If yes, what are they and how would you propose paying for them?Candidate did not respond. If you are a newcomer, what prompted you to run for the park board? It would be great to combine more athletics and events with NWSRA participants, as well as sharing training opportunities with staff. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Timothy Shriver, the chairman of Special Olympics, is dedicated to empowering all people with disabilities.
