Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is it?I have been consistently attending board meetings over the past four years. Having had two children recently graduate from Lake Park with honors and a third currently enrolled as a Sophomore in the district. I offer a real time hands on approach and would like to be more involved with the educational development of the children in our communities. What do you think about the process for measuring student success in your district? Is it adequate? What changes, if any, do you propose?Testing is necessary for many reasons and current methods are mandated. These tests not only show how the student are doing but the school as well. As long as the data obtained in these tests are monitored and curriculum adjusted to meet the or exceed the requirements that's all we can ask for.How big a role do you think the board of education should play in setting the curriculum for students and what ideas do you have for changes to the current curriculum? The board should only approve the curriculum committees recommendations for change and monitor its progress. What budget issues will your district have to confront and what measures do you support to address them? If you believe cuts are necessary, what programs and expenses should be reduced or eliminated? On the income side, do you support any tax or fee increases?I would support a balanced budget and would consider all options administrators recommend. What role can and should school choice play in your district? If Congress or the state approves a voucher system or other means giving students broader choices among public and private schools, how will that affect your district? What is the appropriate response for the board of education of a public school system?I don't feel that it's my place to judge anyone who feels that they would get a better education at a different school. Lake Park's academic statistics speak for themselves and parents should do what they feel is the best for their children. As far as an appropriate board response goes to this it's hard to answer that one as one person's opinion does not make up the board response. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Candidate did not respond. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have done great things all around the world but for me my Mother and Father are my true inspiration. What is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Hard work pays off. If you're going to do something then give it your all.If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?Donate it to charity. I'm happy with who I am and what I have. What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Looking back mine wasn't a subject. It was the teachers who made a lasting impression on me.If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Never take the easy road it's usually full of pot holes. Do the work.
