Windsor School expansion starts in Arlington Heights

Construction started this week on a $13.7 million expansion of Windsor Elementary School in Arlington Heights that will allow the school to get rid of a mobile building, where two classrooms are located.

The project will double the size of the school gym, expand the school commons area, and add six new classrooms and more office space.

Crews with earthmoving machines immediately started work Tuesday after the village board approved an ordinance amending a special use the previous night.

Construction is expected to be complete before the new school year starts in August.
