Marie Antoinette to visit College of DuPage

Marie Antoinette, played by educational entertainer and dramatist Martina Mathisen, will visit College of DuPage to share her life story.

The presentation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 13, in the Student Services Center, Room 3245, on the college's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd. Admission is free.

Sponsored by the COD French Club and European Studies Committee, in collaboration with Alliance Française of DuPage, this event brings history to life as Mathisen engages attendees with a costumed first-person narrative and interactive presentation dramatizing the book "Marie Antoinette: The Journey" by Antonia Fraser. During the performance, Mathisen will reveal the truth behind Antoinette's life as a misunderstood queen - from a teen bride enveloped in pure opulence to the most hated woman in France.
