St. Charles tech company's growth prompts new hires
Bob Snodgrass says that creating exceptional internet experiences for clients is more fun and successful as a team. To improve and expand operations, Snodgrass, as president and founder of net2Community, Inc. in St. Charles looked locally for two new hires.
John Siciliano of Geneva was promoted to full time front-end developer and in June will celebrate his third anniversary with the firm. Marta Soderstrom of St. Charles recently joined net2Community as office assistant and works on content editing, data and quality control on website development projects.
Siciliano is a recent graduate of Illinois State University, with a degree in finance. Although he hopes to use this degree to help grow business(es), his passion is the internet. Siciliano began working with net2Community while a student at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove.
"It is incredible that every day you can come to work and learn something new; there is always something different and challenging," said Siciliano. "After graduation, I wanted to continue with this; I like the business. And, I think Bob and I make a great team."
Snodgrass echoes this sentiment, adding that the need to ensure client satisfaction prompted the recent hires.
"John has a lot of good experience working with us on these projects for the past two and a half years; he is a perfect fit for what we need here. He has developed his skills in computer science and has become an exceptional resource for our clients," Snodgrass explained. "We want grow this business to make certain our clients are taken care of. They deserve high quality work with consistency."
Siciliano turns to his guitar when he needs a break from website development, a hobby he says functions as a stress reliever. To combat sitting around all day, he is an avid workout enthusiast at a local gym.
Snodgrass hired Marta Soderstrom as a part-time office assistant whose role is only expected to grow along with the company. Previously Soderstrom worked in various departments at Delnor-Community Health System with data management and training staff on the patient information system.
"Marta keeps this office running," quipped Snodgrass. "She helps me get things done and makes sure we stay on track. She takes care of our client and prospect database and will help with more and more project work in the future."
Besides working, Soderstrom swims, hikes, enjoys reading and is on the planning committee for two different community dinners: St. Charles Episcopal Church and St Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Charles. Marta also volunteers as an English as a second language tutor through Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley.
