Author to speak on helping students succeed in a diverse world

The Glenbard Parent Series and Families United for Students Excellence invite the community to hear speaker and author Milton Creagh discuss how parents and guardians can raise children to succeed in a diverse world.

The program, for both families and students, begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18, at Glenbard South High School, 23W200 Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn. A light lunch will be served.

Creagh is a speaker and media personality with a common-sense message to aid parents in instilling strong values in teens. Known for his fiery, hard-hitting oratory, Creagh promotes a theory he calls the "Inclusion Quotient" - the idea that for a teen to reach his or her full potential, it requires the sum total of intellect, experiences and ideas uniquely possessed by each individual.

Inclusion requires the ability to listen with an open mind and willingness to ask for and accept help from those who may be unlike ourselves. Those who attend the program will learn how teens can come to view others as valuable resources, despite their diverse backgrounds and differences.

The program is free. FUSE and GPS will recognize the leadership of many African-American students at this event.
