District 73 superintendent to explain $42 million referendum

Hawthorn District 73 Superintendent Nick Brown will host "Superintendent's Coffee - Why the Educational Facilities Master Plan is needed" from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18, at Aspen Drive Library, 701 Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills.

The session will include a short facilities presentation followed by a Q&A.

Voters on April 4 will be asked whether to approve $42 million in funding for school facilities. The request is based on an master plan to solve space needs for a projected growth of 700 students in the next 10 years, while maintaining a 25:1 student-teacher ratio at the elementary school.
