This picture was taken last October along the route between Durango and Silverton Colorado, on the narrow guage Durango/Silverton RR, dating from the 1880s. I find the sight of the steam engine against the contrast of the mountain gorge almost dreamlike!

We recently spent a weekend in Colorado for a family birthday. While driving through a neighborhood, I happened to look up and see this eagle sitting in a tree along the street. My husband quickly puled over, and I had my camera in hand (just in case!). It was a very pleasant surprise, and proof that it pays to have your camera with you at all times!
