'Bonnie and Clyde,' comedies and film noir highlight local movie events

Beatty, Dunaway back for more bloodshed

After shooting up the finale of the 89th Academy Awards show, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway join forces again on the silver screen as the Chicago Film Critics Association presents Arthur Penn's game-changer 1967 gangster thriller “Bonnie and Clyde” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, at the Elk Grove Theaters, 1050 Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village. The show will be hosted by critic and CFCA member Patrick McDonald, who is quite a blast himself. $5 admission. Go to classiccinemas.com.

Drive-In movies for car-board kids

Now, for something completely different, cute and clever. An Indoor Drive-In Movie Night will be held at the Palatine Park District's Birchwood Recreation Center, 435 W. Illinois Ave., Palatine, from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 3.

Participating kids bring their own cardboard boxes to create minicars they can sit in to enjoy the feature presentation of 2016's “Finding Dory,” a rare Pixar movie that did not receive an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature.

Registration for the event is already closed, but you can get more information on the Indoor Drive-In Movie Night at palatineparks.org.

Kids in cars prepare for last year's Indoor Drive-In Movie Night at the Palatine Park District's Birchwood Recreation Center. "Finding Dory" will be shown on Friday, March 3.
