Immanuel's Lady Eagles return to state

For the seventh consecutive season, the second-longest active consecutive streak in the state of Illinois, the Immanuel Lutheran School Lady Eagles will compete in the Illinois Lutheran State Basketball Championship Tournament March 3-5. The tournament, which is open to all Lutheran middle schools in Illinois, is based on season records, conference and tournament championships, head-to-head competition, overall strength of schedule, and play-in games.

The Lady Eagles enter the state tournament with an overall record of 17-6, and champions of both the DuPage County Lutheran Athletic Conference and their own Eagle Invitational Tournament.

A recent strong second place finish in the always highly competitive 39th annual Zion Marengo Tournament also served as a nice marker in the team's overall season resume.

The Lady Eagles will play their first game at state on Friday, March 3, against Rochelle's St. Paul Lutheran School.

The game will be played at 2:30 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran School in Arlington Heights.
