Library to Collect Prom Dresses and Suits

Prom dresses, suits, tuxes and ties will be collected during the first three Saturdays in March at the Schaumburg Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. Donated items will be used for the library's Prom Formal Wear Giveaway in April. Anyone with prom clothes that are in excellent condition may donate them on March 4, 11 or 18 by bringing them to the kidsZone Desk on the library's first floor. No shoes, jewelry, garters or items with tears or stains will be accepted. All donations will be carefully hung and protected prior to the giveaway event.

The Prom Formal Wear Giveaway will take place from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2 in the Rasmussen Room on the library's second floor. No fee or registration is required. Parents and friends may attend, but only teens ages 16-19 may try on and take the prom wear. Teens may take only one item each, however a tie may be combined with a suit or tux. Private changing areas and mirrors will be available.
